I Mariah Allen have this day bargained and sold for the consideration of One
hundred dollars to J W Allen all that part of the tract of land upon which I 
now live lying on the north side of the road leading from Flynns Creek up said
hollow to and by where J W Smallwood now lives, I retaining all the balance of
said land, the road being the line on one side and bound on the north of Richmonds
and Smallwood, West by other lands of J W Allen and East by other lands belonging
to me.  Said land lies in the 11th District of Jackson County Tennessee in Sulphur
hollow and the same land upon which I now live, I retaining the right to a home on
said land and the use of fruit for myself as long as I live and at my death to go
to the said J W.Allen absolutely.  I covenant with the said J W.Allen that I am
lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and will warrant
and defend the title thereto against the lawful claims of all persons whatever -

    Personally appeared before me J W Draper Clerk of the County Court of said
County Solomon Allen and wife Mariah Allen the within named bargainors with whom
I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the within
instrument to be their act and deed and for the purposes therein expressed
    And personally appeared before me Mariah Allen wife of Soloman Allen privately and 
apart from her said husband and acknowledged that she executed the within Deed freely,
voluntarily and understandingly and to be her act and deed and for the purposes therein
expressed
