For and in consideration of Ten Dollars to us in hand paid by the School Directors of the 7th Civil District of Jackson County Tennessee, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, we W. M. Neill and his wife Lee Neill have this day bargained, sold and do by these presents transfer and convey unto W.M. Brown, J. T. Wheeler and Henry Brewington, Sen. (the present school directors) and to their successors forever a parcel or tract of land. Lying in the 7th Civil District of Jackson County Tennessee and bounded as follows to witt. Beginning at a stake near the road thence east with said road10-31/55 poles to a stake thence south 9-18/25 poles to a stake near a chestnut in J. B. Stout, Jas. and W.P. Vetetoes line. Thence north west with said line 12-1/4 poles to chestnut corner in James Stout, Jas. & W.P. Vitetoes line thence north east 5-3/4 poles to the beginning containing by estimation one acre be the same more or less. To have and to hold by the same land (?) unto the said School Directors, namely W.M. Brown, J. I. Wheeler, & Henry Brewington, Sen. and there after to their successors forever. We covenant with the said directors and their successors that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land and have a good right to convey the same and the same is unencumbered . We further covenant and bind ourselves and assigns to forever warrant and defend this title against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever may make complaints under or by us. Neill and his wife Lee Neill with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the within Instrument for the purpose therein contained and Lee Neill wife of the said W.M. Neill having personally appeared before me privately and apart from her husband the said Lee Neill acknowledged the execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandidly without compulsion or constraints from her said husband, and for the purpose therein expressed.
