Benjamin Richardson Pension Application 04 Aug 1815

Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Richardson of Jackson 
Co., and State of Tennessee did serve the United States a Tour of duty 
as a private in Capt. Matthew Cowan’s Company Commanded by Genl 
McCorrale(?) all which will appear by reference to my discharge herewith 
annexed but which will more fully appear by reference to the muster and 
pay Roll of Cowans Company now be it known that I have this day made 
constituted and appointed David Hayes of Smith county same State my 
true and Lawful attorney for him and in my name to wit: Demand receive 
from and Rect(?) to the proper officers of the United States for all money 
that my be due me on account of my services authorizing my sd attorney to 
do any thing and every thing that I might (tear in paper) could do towards 
receiving and (fold in paper) for sd money ratifying confirming and 
allowing all that my sd attorney may or should lawfully do touching the 
promises witness my hand & seal this 4th day of Aug. 1815

Jackson County:  This day came Benjamin Richardson personally before 
me one of the Justices of the Peace for sd county and acknowledged the 
execution of the foregoing Power for the Purposes therein mentioned.
