L Kirby went to Celina Tuesday to open an office for the Gainesboro Photo Co. Road Contractor Frank Anderson is doing some needed work on our public roads in the vicinity of town. The biggest picnic of the season will be near the widow Henley's , in the Gipson Hollow, next Saturday, the 11th. there will be good music, perfect order and a nice time is guaranteed to all who attended. We want a first class young man to travel in Jackson and Clay counties and solicit subscriptions, job printing, etc. Will pay either salary or liberal commission. For particulars call at this office at once. THE SENTINEL Messrs M L Gore, P T Biles and Clay Reeves, the Election Commisioners, completed the work of examining and certifying the election returns Wednesday morning. They pronounce it a heavy job. For the benefit of readers out of the county, who may not understand the situation, we will say that the defeat of Sheriff Sadler, the only nominee seeking re-election, was in no sense due to any inefficiency or wrong doing in office. His record is that of a capable and conscientious public servant. The independents set in to defeat every nominee, and he was slaughtered with the others. *************************************** JOINED IN JULY 1900 County Clerk Nayler issued marriage licenses during the month of July as follows: W G Williams to S S Smith W E Jones to Raley Meadows J L Stubblefield to Bulah Russell Jeff Hix to Clementine Hensley W F Gentry Jr. to Samanath Harley H L Martin to ?
