Maxwell has sold his residence in Gainesboro to Clay Reeves, and the latter will move here about the 1st of March. A rather sensational trial is in progress at the court house, before Esq Rash, as we go to press. S. D. Robinson, of the 10th dist, for an assault and battery upon Cora C. Wheeler, of same neighborhood. Quiet a number of witnesses are in attendance. As it will cover several hours we cannot hold our forms open for the verdict. Later - both bound to Circuit Court. Richard Brooks Col., who accidentally shot himself in the foot a few days ago is still dangerously low with the wound. The well machine struck water for M G Butler yesterday at about 60 feet. ********************************* A SERIOUS CHARGE. Last Tuesday William West swore out a warrant against W W Rogers of Nashville, recently of Rough PT., this county, charging him with abducting his daughter, Mary, a girl about 18 years of age. Mr. Rogers was arrested in nashville Wednesday, and Deputy Sheriff W G Sadler will go down after him today. the case will no doubt attract considerable attention. ****************** THE ONE DAY COLD CURE.
