The information is NOT to be SOLD!) CIRCUIT COURT. Circuit Court is in session here this week, and quite a number of the boys are beginning to realize that "the way of the transgressor is hard." Judge Smith being unavoidably absent Monday, Hon. G. B. Murray was elected special Judge. He opened court, empaneled the Grand Jury, delivering an able, forceful and comprehensive charge. Judge Smith arrived Tuesday and the business of the court is moving along nicely. We give proceedings up to going to press on our first page. GRAND JURY M. H. Hoover Harvey Brockett B. B. Flatt G. A defective flue was the cause. But for the prompt work of several men present the building could not have been saved. *************************** HONOR THE HEROES A good sized crowd assembled at the court house here last Saturday night and enthusiastically discussed the most appropriate manner in which to welcome home the Jackson County boys of the First Tennessee. L. K Smith was called to the chair and W. S. McClain made Secretary. Several short speeches were made and some suggestions offered. A committe on finance was appointed as follows: John J Gore W G Sadler T B Murray T K Williams S E Wilson J C McDearman M L Gore and J W Stafford. The meeting adjourned to meet again the following Monday at 1 o'clock, pm. This meeting was largely attended. Remarks were made by Capt John S. Quarles, G. B. Murray, M J Dixon and others. On motion, the names of P. T. Biles, Frank richmond and W A Qverton were added to the Finance Committe. The character of reception will be decided upon in a few days and will be published next week. There will probably be free transportation for the boys from Nashville, a banquet and perhaps a ball. Members of the fincance committe assure us that about $200 will be collected, and with this amount something nice can be arranged. Let every one contribute something. **************************************** If you are suffering from drowsiness in the day time, irratability of temper, sleepless nights, general debility, headache, and general want to tone of the system, use HERBINE.
