Mr. West was born Nov 27, 1886. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe C. West, both preceeding him in death several years. He was married to Miss Kate Sadler Jul 9, 1911 and to their union three children were born. Mr. West was a very successful merchant and farmer. He conducted a mercantile business about 6 miles south of Gainesboro on the Cookeville road for a number of years. He sold his business and moved to Roaring River where he conducted a store and farm until his health failed more than a year ago and he was forced to sell his store. He had been a member of the Christian church for a number of years. He is survived by his widow, three children, Bonnie, Bill, and Joe Edward; two sisters, Mrs Joda Robinson and Mrs. Pleas Tays of Kuttawa, Ky,; seven brothers, Jim, Lee, Henry and Martin West of California; Jodie, Doxie and George West, of near Gainsboro. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon by Eld. John W. Fox with Internment in the Pharris Cemetery.
