Robert H. Lea Deed to John Ballenger Registered July 26, 1837
This Indenture made this the Sixteenth day of March in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Robert H. Lea of one part
and John Ballinger of the other part Both of Jefferson County & State of
Tennessee.  Witness that said Robert H. Lea in consideration of the sum of two
Hundred & fifty Dollars to him in hand paid the Receipt is hereby acknowledged
hath and by these bargain and Sold Release and surrendered and Confirmed unto
John Ballenger a certain piece or parcel of Land it Being part of a tract of
Land that William Lay formerly owned lying in the County & State aforesaid
being fifty acres more or less. Beginning on a Bunch of Maples on the river
Bank thence N. 85 East 33 poles to a Walnut thence South 63 East 22 poles to a
poplar thence South 5 East 19 poles to a Stake thence South 85 East 40 poles
to a Stake thence South 3 East 42 poles to a white oak thence South 35 East 34
poles to a poplar on the old line thence West with the old line to the river
and up the river at Water Mark to the Beginning with all its appurtenances way
and water to hold unto the said J. Ballanger & his heirs forever to warrant
and forever Defend in Law or Equity all his the said Lea right or claim him
and his heirs forever in witness whereof the said Lea has Set his hand and
Seal the day and date above Written Signed Sealed and delivered in the
presents of us witnesses.

Jefferson County   }     A deed of Conveyance from Robert H. Lea to John
Ballenger for fifty acres of Land lying and being in the County of Jefferson
bearing date the 16 day of March 1833 was presented before me Joseph Hamilton
Clerk of the County Court of Jefferson for probate and then upon Came David
Kidwell & Jonathan Laurence the Subscribing witnesses to the Who being duly
sworn despose & say they are personally acquainted with Robert H. Lea the
bargainor and that they saw him Sign Seal and Execute the same upon the day it
Bears date.  
Witness my hand at office in Dandridge the 6 February 1837.
