Wesly Chittum Deed to Aaron Ballenger Registered the 27 July 1847. This Indenture made & Executed this 5th day of July 1847 Between Wesly Chittum of the County of Claiborn of the one part and Aron Ballenger of the County of Jefferson of the other part. Both of the State of Tennessee. Witnesseth that the said Chittum for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Ballenger, the receipt & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Chittum hath & by these presents doth bargain, sell, convey & confirm unto the said Ballenger, a certain tract or parcel of Land lying & being in said County adjoining the lands of B. F. McFarland & others containing seventy two acres more or less, being the same parcel of land Granted to Archelus Elmore by the State of Tennessee by virtue of Grant 111.34 dated 25th May 1825. Beginning at a black oak run(n)ing South forty seven poles to a stake on McFarlands line (formerly W. Cox’s) thence East with said line fifty eight poles to a white oak, McFarlands corner, thence with his line South Eighty poles to a stake at McFarlands Corner, thence East twenty poles to a stake near a post oak, thence South ten poles to a post oak, thence East fifty four poles to two Hickorys, thence North one hundred & thirty seven poles to a post oak, thence West one hundred and thirty two poles to the Beginning, with all & Singular the woods, waters, water Courses hereditaments & appurtenances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the same and the said Chittum doth hereby obligate & bind himself his heirs & assigns, that thy will forever warrant and defend the aforesaid tract of Land to the said Ballenger his heirs or assigns against the lawful title claim or demand of any person or persons whatever Either in Law or Equity. Heatan State of Tennessee } ss Jefferson County } A Deed of Conveyance from Wesley Chittum to Aaron Ballenger for a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in Jefferson County adjoining the Lands of B. F. McFarland & others containing seventy two acres bearing date the 5th day of July 1847. Was presented before me James Fuller Clerk of the County Court of Jefferson for acknowledgment and there upon came Wesley Chittum the Bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein expressed Witness my hand at office in Dandridge the 5th day of July, A.
