Napoleon B. Gwinn Deed to Juliann Ballenger for 35 acres Registered October 11th 1854 This Indenture made this first day of March in the year of our Lord 1854. Between Nepoleon B. Gwinn of the one part and Julann Ballenger of the other part both parties of the County of Jefferson and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that the said N. B. Gwin for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid the Receipt. Whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Julian Ballanger her heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of Land situated lying and being in the County of Jefferson on the Waters of Holston River and adjoining the Lands William Smith and B. F. McFarland. Beginning on a White Oak on the Bank of the River in the mouth o(f) a hollow thence South thirty degrees East up the river seventy poles to a Spanish Oak on the bank of the River thence West One hundred and twenty poles to a Black Oak and pine on a ridge thence North twelve East sixty poles to a White Oak in Big Hollow thence down the hollow with the road to the beginning Supposed to contain thirty five acres be the same more or less with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the estate right title interest claim and demand Whatever of him the said N. B. Gwin of in and to the said Land and premises and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said Land and premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Juliann Ballenger to her heirs and assigns forever and the N. B. Gwin for himself and his heirs the said Lands and premises and every part and thereof against him and his heirs and all and every other person or persons will warrant and defend forever to the said Julian Ballenger her heirs and assigns forever.
