Deed. James A. Caoffey & Mary E. Coffey to Aaron Ballenger. Registered January 5th 1885. This Indenture made and entered into on the 12 day of December 1884 between James A. Coffey and his wife Mary E. Coffey of the one part and Aaron Ballenger of the other part both of the County of Jefferson and State of Tennessee. Witnesseth that for in consideration of a note of hand given by the said Ballenger to the said Coffey for the sum of Four hundred and sixty Dollars due in Two years or before bearing interest from this date doth grant and convey and confirm to the said Aaron Ballinger a certain place or parcel of land lying in the 13th civil district of Jefferson County and bounded as follows: Beginning on a chestnut on or near Ballengers line. Thence with Coffey’s line N. 12. E. Thence start from a Stake 80 p. from Beginning to a line at the river bank. Thence S. 45 E. 16 p. to a white oak. Thence S. 65. E. 40 p. Thence with the meanderings of Ballengers fence 116 P. to a white oak Stump. Thence with Ballengers line 174 p. to the beginning containing 51 acres more or less, to have and to hold to the said Ballenger his heirs and as(s)igns forever, and the said Coffey will forever warrant and defend the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever. Dick Notary Public of Jefferson County aforesaid, the within named bargainer James A. Coffey with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that he executed the annexed Instrument for the purposes therein contained. Coffey wife of the said James A.
