Deed. O. L. Bunch and others to John Trogden Registered June 10th 1897. Know all men by these presents that whereas by deed of conveyance executed by Henry Ballinger & other heirs of Aaron Ballinger Dec’d dated the 3 day of April 1894. We O. L. Bunch & wife Sallie Bunch, J. L. Hinshaw & wife Molie Hinshaw, Alex Ballinger & wife Bel Ballinger, John Ballinger & wife Lana Ballinger and D. A. Northern, derived title and now hold an equal undivided interest in and to a certain peace(sic) or parcel of land. Situated in the 13th Civil District of Jefferson County Tenn. supposed to contain 50 acres and bounded as follows. Holston River on the West, Aaron Ballinger on the North, the same and the road on the East, and the N. E. with Lands on the South. Being to each one 14th of said land. Now for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and four dollars & fifty cents to us paid as follows, by John Trogden of the second part. Fifty four dollars & two cents in hand paid and the remainder to be paid as follows. One note of even date with this conveyance executed by John Trogden to O. L. Bunch. Due on the 1st day of May 1897 for Nine dollars and fifty two cents, One note executed to J. L. Hinshaw for Fifteen Dollars and due on the 1st day of Oct 1897. And one note executed to D. A. Northern for Nine Dollars due 12 months from date & one note to J. M. McLane for Eighteen dollars due twelve months from date. And it is understood and agreed that a specific lien is hereby retained on said interests in said land to secure the payments of said notes, in full. Being 6 shares of said land, we have this day bargained and sold, and do hereby bargain and sell, and convey unto John Trogden, his heirs and assigns all our interests in said lands binding ourselves, our heirs & representatives, unto the said John Trogden his heirs and assigns forever and we do covanant with the said John Trogden that we will warrant and forever defend the title to said land against the lawful claims of all persons claiming under or threw us. McClane & wife Della McClane with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledges that they executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained, and Sallie Bunch, wife of the said O. L. Bunch, Mollie Hinshaw, wife of the said J. L. Hinshaw, Bell Ballinger, wife of the said Elex Ballinger & Della McClane, wife of the said J. M. McClane having appeared before me privately and apart from their said husbands the said O. L. Bunch, J. L. Hinshaw, Elex Ballinger, John Ballinger & J. M. McClane acknowledged the execution of the said Deed to have been done by them freely voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from their said husbands & for the purposes therein expressed.
