Jefferson County

Marriage Bond and License of William Statham and Matilda Sampson

Know all men by these presents that we William Statum
and Isaac Gregory both of Jefferson County and State of
Tennessee are held and firmly bound unto William Carroll
Governor and his successors in office in the sum of Twelve 
hundred and fifty dollars to be void on condition there be
no cause to abstruct the marriage of the said William Sta
-tum with Matilda Sampson.  Witness our hands and
seal this 24th day of April 1827

for said county Greeting
You are hereby authorised to celebrate the rites of
marriage between William Statum and Matilda
