John Jacobs Will In the name of God amen, I John Jacobs a citizen of the State of Tennessee and County of Jefferson, being weake of body but of sound mind and of disposing memory, for wich I thank Almight God, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly substances as hath pleased to bless me with do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following. that is to say, first I desire and direct that all my Just debts and funeral expences be punctually paid - 2nd. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebeca Jacobs during her life all my Plantation on which I now live, containing one hundred and thrity acres. I also give unto my wife all my personal property and stock of every kind & description, also all my house hold and kitchen furniture all my clothing, beads and furniture, I also give and bequeath to my wife all my crop of every kind whatever either gathered or standing wich shall be and remain at my decease - wich shall be and remain for the support and clothing of my wife and all my children that may be under her care. My wife may also dispose of any part of my personal property as she may think best or proper during her life. 3nd. I also give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Jacobs one dollar. 4th I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Jacobs one dollar. 5th I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Jacobs two notes of hand each note for one hundred and fifty dollars, payable on the 7th day of March 1822 bearing date the 13th day of July, 1818 wich notes was given to me by my sons Thomas Jacobs and Samuel Jacobs and witnessed by James Tillet and Peter Eckle. 6th I give and bequeath unto my son John Jacobs and his heirs and assigns forever at the death of my wife all my land whereon I now live containing one hundred and thirty acres. 7th I also desire and direct that after my wife's decease all the personal property of every kind and description not disposed of at the deth of my wife be equally divided between my foure daughters that is to say Maria Bettis, Harriett Jacobs, Rachel Jacobs and Elizabeth Jacobs and I do hereby request and appoint my friend James McCuiston, SR sole executor of this my last will and testament - In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of July in the year of our Lord AD 1818.
