This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Nadine Holder nadin@C2i2.com ==================================================================== In the name of God Amen I John Longacre of Jefferson County and State of Tennessee being in a tolerable state of health and of sound mind, and good understanding, but at the same time considering the uncertainty of life, and certainty of death, do hereby make this my last will and testament, denying all former wills or testaments made by me or in my name, do make and constitute this present testament deannuling all former wills or testaments which are or have been made by me or my name....first I give my body to the earth from whence it came to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors. I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Ann Longacre the one third part of all my estate, both real and personal, to have and to hold the same during her natural life. Secondly I give and bequeath to my well beloved son Joseph Longacre my large house bible in addition to a tract of land containing one hundred and twenty seven acres which I have heretofore deeded to him as the records will show. Thirdly, I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son John Longacre one hundred and ninety one acres of land lying on Holston River, it being the place where my said son John now lives but my said son John Longacre shall pay unto my daughter Rachel now wife to Thomas Williams thirty dollars, also he shall pay to my daughter Ann Longacre now wife to Andrew Longacre the sum of fifty dollars also him the said John Longacre shall pay to my daughter Elizabeth Longacre the sum of fifty dollars, which three daughters legacies amounting to one hundred and thirty dollars is to be paid by my said son John unto my aforesaid daughters in satisfaction for the aforesaid land which I have bequeathed him as said land is of more value than the lands I have given to his other brothers. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Thomas Longacre two tracts of land adjoining each other containing together two hundred and three acres including my dwelling plantation. I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachel Williams thirty dollars to be paid her by my aforesaid son John Longacre as above mentioned. I also give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Longacre fifty dollars to be paid by my son John Longacre as above mentioned. I also give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Longacre fifty dollars to be paid by my aforesaid son John Longacre as above mentioned. I also hereby make ordain and appoint my well beloved son John Longacre and my beloved brother Benjamin Longacre as my true and lawful Executors for to settle all my worldly affairs after my death as also to see to and have this my last will and testament punctually performed in all and every respect.
