Marie Dugger G. Marie Tester Dugger, 88, of Elizabethton, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Joe Spurgeon and Fronia Alice Tester. Mrs. Dugger had lived in Carter County for several years. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church for over 50 years. She loved to quilt, crochet, sew and work in her garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dayton Hughes Dugger, May 10, 1962, a sister, Beatrice Watson, and a great- grandson, Wyatt Davis. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Charles Watson of Charleston, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. and Betty Dugger of Watauga; her grandchildren and their families, Gina and Conrad Davis, Jasmine, Trevor, Ernie and Romana Dugger, Andrew Dugger, Dylan, Katherine and Andrew Dugger II, Audrey King, Joshua and Hannah Marie and Emily, Twyla and Bryan South, Cameron and Larkin, Dr. Christy and Barry South, Caleb, Thomas and Elizabeth Marie; and a brother, Lawrence Tester of Johnson City. Funeral services for Mrs. Dugger will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating. Music will be provided by Stephen Church, Julie Combs and Scott Reynolds, organist. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, will be Ernie Dugger, Barry South, Conrad Davis, Bryan South, Cameron South and Trevor Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Stout, Dean Robinson, Bill Carter, Cleatis Boling, Wayne Harr, R.V. Brown and Vernon Saylor. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Betty Dugger, 136 Hidden Valley Road, Watauga.
