JOHNSON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - James D. Dugger, 22 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Mr. James D. Dugger, 81, formerly of Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, died Monday, December 22, 2003 in the Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hazard, Ky. He was a native of Butler, but had resided most of his adult life in Pottstown, Penn. He was the son of the late Roy B. and Okie Mae Presnell Dugger. He was a sprinkler fitter and was a member of the Local Union 669, the NRA and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth Thomas Dugger, in 1999; two sons, James D. Dugger Jr. and Walter Burton Dugger; two brothers, J. R. Dugger and Lester Dugger and one sister, Nanny Dugger. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Lynn Dugger, Lexington, Ky; a sister, Nell Campbell, Elizabethton, and one grandson, Noah James Dugger, Lexington, Ky. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. James D. Dugger will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2003 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. William Kincaid officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dedecember 27, 2003 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Red Haney and Noah James Dugger. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2003 or at the former residence, 889 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton at any time. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
