Greenwell Mrs. Callie Elizabeth Morley Greenwell, 93, 568 Long Hollow Road, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, March 4, 2007, at her residence. A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Spurgeon and Naomi McQueen Morley. Mrs. Greenwell had lived most of her life in Carter County and had worked as a cook in the Carter County School System for several years. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was active in the WMU of the church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Greenwell was preceded in death by her husband, William L. "Doug" Greenwell, November 18, 1983; a grandson, Tony Greenwell; three brothers, Dana Morley, D.C. Morley Sr. and James Morley; and four sisters, Carrie Bradley, Eula Tester, Gladys Stout and Dorothy Whitson. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley Greenwell, of the home, and Carolyn Sue and Clarence Berry of Madisonville, Ky.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Carol Greenwell and Teddy and Martha Greenwell, all of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Tim Berry and Tina Willis, both of Madisonville, Ky., Tracy Devine of Calhoun, Ky., Tammy Greenwell of Asheville, N.C., Gina Greenwell of Orlando, Fla., and Melissa Millsaps of Elizabethton; six great-grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Mary Young of Kingsport; and two sisters- in-law, Helen Morley McKittrick of Denver, Colo., and Shizako Morley of El Cajon, Calif. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Callie Greenwell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Devine and the Rev. Sherrill Nave officiating. Honorary minister will be the Rev. C.W. Snodgrass. Music will be provided by Tina and James Willis and the church choir. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, will be Tim Berry, Thornton Hamilton, Richard Whitson, Jon Whitson, Joey Nave, Tim Edwards, Willie McVey and Doug Bogart. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family and Dr. Joe May. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Adventa Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Baptist Church. Friends may also call at her residence.
