Honeycutt Bertha Mae Honeycutt, 86, Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late William Columbus and Lula Mae Pleasant Kirby. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton. Mrs. Honeycutt was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southside Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Honeycutt, by a son, Rondal C. Honeycutt; and seven sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Davis, Elizabethton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Monie Joe and Carol Honeycutt, Elizabethton, and Charles and Judy Honeycutt, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; nine special grandchildren; 13 special great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Kirby, Prescott, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Burleson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, will be Larry Davis, Chad Brooks, Philip Johnson, David Collins, Gary Hart and Shannon Peters. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the Hermitage Health Center for all their love and care of Mrs. Honeycutt. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of the daughter, Evelyn Davis, 204 Williams Avenue, Elizabethton.
