JOHNSON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Romella Desiree Lipps, 3 Apr 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Romella Desiree Lipps, 80, went to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, April 3, 2005, Mrs. Lipps was a native of Johnson County and the daughter of the late Edward and Clydia Church Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lipps. Mrs. Lipps was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and had retired as custodian of Immanuel. She loved country and gospel music and loved to play the guitar. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and John Williams, Elizabethton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Eddie and Denell Lipps, Robert and Sue Lipps and Glen Lipps, all of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Annette Setzer, Lenoir Fletcher, Robin Lipps, Wendy Browning and Alexis Lipps; eight great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Betty Roberts, a sister, Pauline Burrow, and one aunt, Ann Snyder, all of Mountain City. Several nieces and nephews and many loving friends including three special friends, Helen Kirby, Anita Bullocks and Judy Tolley. Funeral services for Mrs. Lipps will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dean Smith, the Rev. John Perkins and the Rev. Jim Lindsay officiating. Music will be under the direction of Elmer Sams and Gary Rice. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the Ensor Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral chapel at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, will be Clem Browning, Willie Setzer, Nathan Bowers, Donnie Kirby, Kenny Fletcher, Rusty Taylor, Landon Pritchard, Danny Fillers and Ronnie Kirbo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Friends may also call at the residence at anytime.
