Moody Vee Kyte Moody, 76, 4302 Highway 321, Butler, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Butler, she was a daughter of the late Holland and Ola Pleasant Kyte and her step-mother Aradia Davis Kyte. She was retired from the Carter County School system as an aide at Little Milligan Elementary School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert N. Moody, on Jan. 28, 2007, by her father and mother-in-law, Dallas and Martha White Moody; a brother, Bill Kyte; two brothers-in-law, Maynard Clark and Kenneth Miller; and also a nephew, Neil Moody. She was a member of the Little Milligan Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Norman Dale Moody of the home; a granddaughter, Callie Renee Moody; two sisters, Edith Clark, and Charlotte Miller both of Kingsport; a sister-in-law, Louise Main and her husband Bud; four brothers-in- law and their spouses, Richard and Kay Moody, Bobby and Sue Moody, Jim and Patsy Moody all of Butler, and D.L. and Kaye Moody, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral chapel with the Rev. Nick Bradshaw officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lakeview Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Monday, will be Shane Moody, Richard Moody, Farrell Main, Marsha Moody, Robbie Moody and Bill Finney. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Reece, Doug Hatley, Paul Campbell, Leland Moody, Doodle White, Jim V. Moody, Dallas "Chip" Moody, Daigel Moody, Terry Kyte, Joe Kyte, Brenda Reece, Glenda Smith, Patty Walls, Angie Kyte and Tom Hord. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. For those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Moody to The Alzheimers Association, 207 N. Boone Street, Suite 1500, Johnson City, TN 37604.
