JOHNSON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Jack C. McQueen, 9 Mar 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Jack C. McQueen, 85, Beryl Blevins Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an illness. Mr. McQueen was a native of Johnson County and had lived in Carter County most of his life. He was a son of the late David L. and Kate Bowers McQueen and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond McQueen, who was killed in World War II, and Warren McQueen, and a sister, Pearl Garland. Mr. McQueen was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. He was a retired machinist, having worked at Reynolds Metals, Bristol, Va. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nell Jenkins McQueen; and two sisters, Mary Ross and Jean Wilkinson, both of Chattanooga; two nephews and one niece. The funeral service for Mr. McQueen will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, March 11, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Jason Burchfield and Mr. H. Clay Bailey, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jerry Barnett, soloist. A committal service and entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 3 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be elders and deacons selected from Valley Forge Christian Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond McQueen, Matthew McQueen, Jay Wilkinson, Chad Irwin, Bill Irwin, Larry Timbs Sr. and Larry Timbs Jr. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Valley Forge Christian Church, 114 Valley Forge Christian Church Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
