JOHNSON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Icle Gentry Nave, 1 Sep 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Icle Gentry Nave, 91, Price Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 in the Pine Ridge Care Center. A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late William and Cora Berry Gentry. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She had lived in Florida from 1964 until 1972. Mrs. Nave was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church and was a former member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. She had been active in both churches serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Nave, on September 27, 1977; by an infant son, one sister; Dorothy Hammons, and three brothers, Harry, Robert and Maynard Gentry. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Wilma Shoun and Barbara and Leroy Blevins, all of Elizabethton; two grandsons, Wayne Shoun and Eddie Shoun, both of Elizabethton; several great and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Crowe, Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Pastor Jeff Nave and Dr. William Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckles Cemetery. Kenneth Miller, Michael Williams and Sue Bowers will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:50 p.m. Saturday will be Wayne Shoun, Ryan Shoun, Jason Ward, Jim Ferguson, Carey Crowe and Roger Crowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Nave, Quinn Nave, Roger Nave, Maine Nave, Lawrence Hodge, James Carroll, Dr. Dennis Deese, Rev. Jamie Ferguson, Rev. Jerry Stout, Rev. Clate Briggs, Leonard Bowers, Donald Richardson, J.M. Buckles, the staff of Pine Ridge Care Center and Roan Highlands Nursing Center, the church families of Hunter First Baptist Church and Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Leroy Blevins, 1062 U.S. Highway 91, Elizabethton.
