Bruce O. Pearson 





    Bruce O. Pearson, 76, of Butler, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007, at 

Watauga Medical Center. 





    Bruce was born on April 8, 1931, in Johnson County to the late Claude and 

Bessie Dugger Pearson. He liked to work on cars and loved his family. 





    In addition to his parents, Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by two 

sisters, Inez Knight and Nell Stansbery; four brothers, Junior, Wayne, Elmer 

and Bob Pearson; and a son-in-law, Ralph Potter. 





    Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hatley Pearson; four daughters, Tammy 

Potter and husband Steve, Helen McCoury and husband Tim, Vanessa Potter and 

Judy Pearson, all of Butler; a sister, Marie McQueen of Elizabethton; a 

brother, Lawrence Pearson of Butler; a grandson, Adam McCoury; and several 

nieces and nephews. 





    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at 

Mountain City Funeral Home with the service to follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. 

Ray Greene officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Potter, Walter Norris, Jim 

Greenwell, Jerry Pearson, Billy Pearson and Steve Payne. The committal service 

and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, in the Sugar 

Grove Cemetery. The family will also receive friends at the home, 190 Greggs 

Branch Road, Butler. Condolences may be made online at
