JOHNSON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Harry Edward Stout, 9 Oct 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Harry E. Stout Harry Edward Stout, 73, 133 Blevins Rd., Johnson City, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 9, 2003 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. A native of Butler, he was a son of the late John Abraham and Linnie Purdue Stout. He had lived in Elizabethton several years. He was a self-employed antique dealer, carpenter and minister. He had formerly pastored the Gordon Baptist church, North Wilkesboro, N.C. Mr. Stout attended the Harmony Baptist Church, Elizabethton. He was a member of the Psalmsmen Quartet. Mr. Stout served in the 11th Air Borne Division, U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stout was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, Floyd and Bob Stout; one sister, Allie Livingston, and a great grandson, Steven Bumgarner. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ester Carrier Stout and their children and spouses, Glenda and Eulis Bumgarner; Steve and Elizabeth Stout, and Karen and Richard "Jarfly" Dugger, all of Elizabethton; five grandchildren and spouses, Tracy and Teresa Bumgarner; LeAnne and Carlos Hill; Jessica and Thomas Hammond; David Powell and Dustin Powell; an adopted granddaughter and spouse, Michelle and Derick Smith; five step grandchildren, Lance Dugger, Logan and Dylan Story, Jessica Kiser and Sara Carpenter; two great grandchildren, Tommy Hammond and Kayle Smith; one brother and his wife, Gilbert and Annis Stout, Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Lillian Stout, and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Ruth and Arlie Reece, Laura Swecker, and the staff and personnel of Life Care Center and the VA Medical Center also survive. Funeral services for Harry Stout will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2003 in the Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Haskel Ingram and Rev. Earl Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmert Cemetery with the Rev. Horace Bowers officiating. Music will be provided by Roger Peters, Larry Stout and Sue Hamm. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 2:20 p.m. Sunday will be Eulis Bumgarner, Richard "Jarfly" Dugger, Tracy Bumgarner, David Powell, Carlos Hill, Roy Livingston and Lance Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Lambert, Phillip Hyder, Norris Shell, Sam Reece, Roger Peters, Dave Powell, Jackie Slagle, Dr. William Dralle, his family members and his church family. VFW Post #2166 will conduct military graveside honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2003 in the funeral home. Friends may also call at his residence.
