JOHNSON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - J.R. Stout, 23 Mar 2004 ----¤¤¤---- J.R. Stout, 82, Doeville Rd., Butler, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2004 in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Doc and Lottie Proffitt Stout. Mr. Stout was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679. Mr. Stout was a member of the Little Doe Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Payne Stout, who passed away April 13, 1996; one sister and three brothers. Survivors include two sons, Ray Stout and wife, Barbara, of Butler; Kyle Stout and Mary Walker, Elizabethton; one sister, Beulah Hardin and her husband, Glen, of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Carla Dickens and her husband, Kenneth; Susan Kyte and her husband, Scotty; Christal Stout and her friend, Greg Pope; Angela Stout; Beveraly McIntosh and her husband, Rodney, and Jeff Stout; three great grandchildren, Nikki Fletcher, Cynthia Kyte and T.R. Kyte. Several nieces and nephews and many many special friends also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004 in the Little Doe Baptist Church with the Rev. Kreg Smith and Rev. Roy Wilson officiating. The graveside service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2004 in the Rock Springs Cemetery. The church choir will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 7:50 p.m. Thursday and also at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday will be Kenneth Dickens, Steve Payne, Wallace Stout, Scotty Kyte, Tim Wilson, Richard Cable, Ronnie Stout and Tony Milam. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Little Doe Baptist Church. Friends may also call at the residence.
