KNOX COUNTY, TN - COURT - Rowland Blankenship Power of Attorney to James Cox ----¤¤¤---- Know all these men by those presents that Rowland Blankenship of the County of Knox and State of Tennessee do authorize James Cox of the county and State I powered my friend and lawful attorney to transact the following business to wit to receive the pay due me from the United States for a tour of duty in Captain John Chiles Company of mounted infantry in Colonel John Brown's regiment against the Creek Indians commencing on the 10th day of January, 1814 and ending on the 25th day of May, 1814 and do authorize and empower said James Cox to sign my name to the receipt roll for the same.
