Brown, wife to Sarah Brown Know all men by these presents that I James F. Brown, wife Mary E. Brown of Knox County, Tennessee have sold and do hereby sell, grant, convey and confirm unto Sarah Brown of Knox County, Tennessee in consideration of the sum of five dollars receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and an exchange of other property the following described premises, situate in the State of Tennessee County of Knox District No. 12. Beginning at the corner of James Proffits' lot on Lawrence Avenue 50 feet from Elm Street thence westerly along the north side of said Avenue fifty feet to a rock put in the ground for a corner then northward 150 feet to an Alley, then Eastwardly along the alley, fifty feet to the line of said Proffits lot then along his West line to the beginning corner, and being the same property conveyed to James F. Brown by John Harris' wife by deed dated Sept 20th 1883, and duly recorded in the Register's office of Knox County Book--vol. --- page --- and the same is made a part of this deed for title and for description. Also one other lot in District No. 1 of Knox County in Harder & Co. addition to Knoxville and known as a part of lot No. 83 in said addition and being the northern portion of said lot, and bounded as follows. Beginning one hundred and twenty five feet from a stake in the southwestern corner of Campbell & Georgia Streets thence southward on the line of Georgia Street twenty five feet thence at right angles fifty feet westward, thence northward in parallel lines with Georgia Street twenty five feet thence eastward fifty feet more or less to the beginning. The same contains twenty five by fifty feet more or less and being the same lot conveyed to J. F. Brown by J. W. Borchis by deed dated July 24, 1883 and duly recorded in Register's office of Knox County in Book---vol. ---page--- and the same is made a part of this deed for title and for description. To have and to hold to the said purchaser her heirs and assignees forever. And I expressly release all claim under homestead and dower laws and covenant that I have good right to convey said premises that they are free from all encumbrances whatsoever and that the title to the same to the above named purchaser I will forever warrant and defend.
