Brown to Jas. F. Brown (1867) This indenture mad this twenty fourth day of September Eighteen hundred and sixty seven between Joseph M Brown of the county of Knox and State of Tennessee of the first part and James F. Brown of the county and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said Joseph M Brown for and in consideration of the sum of fourteen hundred dollars is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth carry and confirm the said James F Brown his heirs and assignees forever all of his undivided interest being seven ninths thereof in three several tracts or parcels of land lately belonging to the estate of John Brown deceased and undivided as aforesaid situated in the 8th Civil district in the county of Knox and State of Tennessee on the south side of Copper Ridge and known duly noted and described as follows to wit one tract containing fifty acres bounded as follows to wit. Beginning on the Big survey line on a white oak thence running with Robert Tindel's line that is a line that was Robert Tindells in 1829 north 36 east 80 poles to a spanish oak thence south 45 east 100 poles to a postoak thence south 31 west 80 poles to a post oak and on the big survey thence north 45 west 100 poles to the beginning one other containing fifty acres more or less bounded as follows to wit. Beginning on the branch on a black gum stump running thence a direct line to a white oak thence north running with the hollow to the hog wallow thence west to the lot line on a stake thence north 45 west to William Conners corner thence east to a chestnut and John York corner thence south 45 east to a black oak John Yorks corner thence east to a white oak John Yorks corner thence running down the branch with John Yorks line to the beginning the corners referred to as John Yorks now belongs to the heirs of Hugh L Copeland deceased. the other tract containing one and half acres be the same more or less and described as follows to wit. Beginning on John Browns line on a stake on the top of the hill thence north 45 west along the lot line to John Browns corner on a post oak tree thence two roads to a sweet gum on the branch thence down the Branch to a chestnut tree John Browns corner on the branch thence as a straight line to the beginning which undivided seven ninths of the said three several tracts of land together with the hereditaments unto and appurtenances there to belonging the said Joseph M Brown for himself his heirs and assignees to the said James F. Brown his heirs and assignees will warrant and forever defend against the lawful claim of all and every person or persons whomsoever by these presents as an indefeasible inheritance fee Simple in Testimony where of the said Joseph M. Brown hath here unto signed sealed and delivered in Presence of John Tunnell Joseph M. Brown John L.
