Brown Know all men by these presents that I Sarah Brown of Knox County Tennessee, have sold and hereby sell, grant, convey and confirm unto James Brown of Knox County, Tennessee, in consideration of the sum of five dollars receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and an exchange of other property my undivided one half interest in the following described premises situated in the State of Tennessee, County of Knox, viz. District No. 1 and 9th Ward of the city of Knoxville, Tenn and lots nos. 4 & 5 in McGhee 2nd addition to Knoxville, Tenn. as shown on map registered in Registrars office Knox County and bounded as follows. Beginning on the North West corner of Arthur and Branner Streets, thence North the line of Arthur Street two hundred fifty feet (250) more or less, to West 5th Avenue Street, thence West with West 5th Avenue Street three hundred (300) feet more or less to Marion thence with Marion Street South two hundred & fifty (250) feet more or less to Branner Street, thence East with Branner Street three hundred (300) feet more or less to the beginning and being the same lots conveyed to Sarah Brown & J. F. Brown by C. M. McGhee by his attorney in fact R. Craighead by deed dated November 16th, 1883 and duly recorded in the Registers office of Knox County in Book Z, vol. . 8, page 484 and the same made a part of this deed for title and for description. To have and to hold to the said purchaser his heirs and assignees forever. ----------expressly release all claims under homestead and dower laws, and covenant that I have good right to convey said premises that they are free from all encumbrances whatsoever, and that the title to the same to the above purchaser, I will forever warrant and defend.
