M. Brown This indenture made this fifth day of Oct 1865 between Robert. L. Brown, James F. Brown, James L. Hunter and his wife Margaret E. Hunter and James McCloud and his wife Mary Ann McCloud heirs at law of John Brown deceased all of the county of Knox and state of TN party of the first part and Joseph M. Brown party of the second part, for the sum of $545, three tracts of land belonging to the estate of John Brown in the 8th Civil District of Knox Co. on the south side of the Copper Ridge and bounded as follows: one tract containing fifty acres bounded as follows, to wit, beginning on the big survey line on a white oak thence running with Robert Tindell's line that is line that was Robert Tindell's in 1829 N 36 deg. E 80 poles to a Spanish oak thence S 36 W 80 poles to a post oak on the big survey line thence N 46 W 100 poles to the beginning. One other tract containing 50 acres more or less bounded as follows: beginning on a black gum stump running thence a direct line to a white oak thence N running with the hollow to the hog wallow thence W to the lot line on a stake thence N 45 deg. W to William Conner's corner thence E to a chestnut oak John York's corner thence S 45 deg. E to a black oak John York's corner thence E to a black oak John York's corner to a white oak John York's corner thence running down the branch with John York's line to the beginning. The other tract containing one acre and half be the same more or less and described as follows: beginning on John Brown's line on a stake on the top of the hill thence N 45 deg. W along the lot line to John Brown's corner on a post oak tree thence two ____ to a sweet gum on the branch thence down the branch to a chestnut tree John Brown's corner on the branch thence a straight line to the beginning.
