In his will, he did leave 300 acres to his son Henry Cox; but with the exception of one acre being set aside for the cemetery, no other land is given to his children thru his will. ------------------------------------ No. 283 Walter Alves to Curd Cox Deed of Conveyance 400 Acres on Bull Run in Lot E This Indenture made this tenth day of Jan. in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Nine between Walter Alves of the County of Orange in the State of North Carolina, of the One Part and Curd Cox of the County of Knox and State of Tennessee of the Other part. Witnesseth that the said Walter Alves for and consideration of the Sum of five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Curd Cox the Receipt ahereof the Said Walter Alves doth hereby acknowledge, Hath given, granted, bargained, and sold, (word)? , and Confirmed by these presents, doth give, grant, bargain and sell , (word)? And Confirm unto the Said Curd Cox his heirs and assigns forever , all that Tract of Land, situate, lying, and being in the County of Knox and State of Tennessee. On the North Side of Bull Run in the Lot marked and called Letter E. Number two in Richard Henderson and Companies Clinch Survey which Lot letter E was allotted in the Division to the Aforesaid Walter Alves. Beginning on the North Bank of Bull Run where the line dividing the Aforesaid Lot E from Lot F. (word)? The same, thence running along said dividing line nearly a North West Course to the Top of the Bull Run Knobs, Running thence a North Eastwardly Course following the extreme height of the knobs until it strokes The line of Lot D. thence following said line A South East Course to Bull Run, thence down the Bank of Bull Run as it meanders to the beginning and containing four hundred acres all the same be more or less and also all the Woods, Ways, Waters, and Watercourses, and all and every the appurtenancies thereto belonging, or in anywise appertaining , and the Reversion and Reversions, Remainder and Remainders rents and issues thereof and all the estate right, title, interest, claim, soverignty, ane demand whatsoever,of the said Walter Alves (323?) In and to the same and premises hereby granted. To have and to hold the aforesaid lands and premises with the appurtenances unto the Said Curd Cox, his heirs, and assigns forever: And the Said Walter Alves doth for himself and his heirs, the aforesaid land and premises, and every part thereof, against him and his heirs, and against the claim or claims of all and every other persons whatever, to the said Curd Cox, his Heirs and Afsigns, Shall and Will Warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Walter Alves hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and year first above written. The Execution of the within Deed of Conveyance was duly proven in open Court by the oaths of John Cox, James Washington Milligan, and John Childress three of the Subscribing Witnesses thereto and admitted to record, Let it be Registered the State Tax having been paid to me according to Law. In Testimony whereof I Charles McClung, Clerk of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for the County aforesaid by John H.
