Moses was the son of Curd Cox (b. 1762). Moses' son, Curd Cox (b. 1827), is mentioned in this deed along with wife Mary (Renfro) Cox. This Curd also was appointed as one of the executors of Moses' will, along with his brother John Cox. --------------------------------------- Quit Claim Deed Ambrose Cox et al To John Cox- 19 1/2 acres This Indenture made this the 15th day of September 1882 between Curd Cox, S. C. Mynatt and his wife Susan Mynatt, J. N. Jett and his wife Millie Jett, Jemima Hall and Ambrose Cox of the first part and John Cox of the second part all of the County of Knox and State of Tennessee and all heirs at law of Moses Cox Dec'd. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of five dollars to the parties of the first part paid by the said John Cox the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said parties of the first part do hereby convey and confer unto the said John Cox, his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of land lying in the 7th District of Knox County and being a part of the tract of land belonging to the heirs of the said Moses Cox Dec'd and bounded as follows Beginning on a stake in the meadow corner to Lot No. 2. Thence North 2 degrees East 6 poles to a rock at an ashe Thence North 15 degrees East 14 poles to a stake Thence South 74 degrees West 115 poles more or less to a stake Davises Corner Thence South 16 degrees East 18 poles to a stake corner to Lot No. 2. Thence with the Division of Lot No. 2 North 74 degrees East 104 poles more or less to the beginning. Containing 13 acres be the same more or less also one other small tract of timber belonging to the above described tract and bounded as follows: Beginning on a stake corner to Lot No. 2 Thence North 35 degrees West 15 poles to a stake Thence South 62 degrees West 65 poles to a stake Thence South 21 degrees East 15 poles to a stake corner to Lot No. 2 Thence North 62 degrees East 68 poles more or less to the beginning. Containing 6-1/2 acres be the same more or less with the appurtenances thereto belonging and the parties of the first part hereby jointly and severally for themselves and for their heirs relinquish all title and claim of theirs and of each of theirs to the said parcel of land to the said John and his heirs and they hereby forever quit claim to the said parcel of land.
