August 31, 1839 James McLain William McLain to Andrew McLain 115 acres on Beaver Creek, Jan 21, 1813, Knox Co. TN on the North side of Beaver Creek----beginning at a stake on the extreme height of Copper Ridge, Daniel Ogg's southwest corner----witnessed by Wm Alldridge, Hiram Alldridge, James McLain and Charles Tindell John McLain fo the county of Henderson, state of Illinois, and Joseph McLain of the county of Knox and state of Tennessee. June 4, 1855---the sum of $60--- -tract of land situated in Knox Co---E Woods northwest line. Also one other tract of land of 50 acres adjoining the above conveyed to Joseph McLain by R. Campbell, J. Campbell and R. Tunnell bearing date of July 2, 1821. The aboved described tracts of land contain 450 acres more or less. I convey my interest as heir of Joseph McLain deceased in said tracts of land to Joseph McLain and his heirs which is one tenth. Witnesses: W. D. Henderson and Jacob Spangler 4th Oct 1847 between James McLain, Austin D. McLain and Joseph McLain of the county of Knox and state of Tennessee of the one part and Jesse Groner of the county of Knox on the other part. $183---a certain tract of land situated in the county of Knox---beginning at a sassafras on the top of Beaver Creek Ridge, corner with James Dowlen----to a rock on Maxwell Brown's corner---- being a tract of land held by Calvin McLain late of the state of Arkansas and now deceased foregoing tract of land the said James McLain, Austin D. McLain and Joseph McLain as heirs of the said Calvin C. McLain sell------containing 150 acres. Witnesses:_________ Swan and ___________ Swan 21st March 1854, between James McLain of the county of Knox of the one part and Howell B. Fraker of the other part----$700----a certain tract of land situated in Knox Co---on the south side of Copper Ridge adjoining the land of John Monday, Wm.
