He answered the questions below in his pension application. He was honorably surrendered at Shreveport, LA. at the close of the war where he was sick in the hospital. At time of application for pension (4th day of June 1914), he was: Age: 77 years (so born abt 1837) Born in: Knox Co., TN Resided in Texas: 60 years (from about age 17) Co. of residence: Burnet How long in county: about 30 years, Marble Falls Occupation: Farming What state was command you served in organized? Texas How long did you serve: About 4 years enlisted at Beginning of the war and served until its close Letter of your company:"E" Capt. Mabry, Allens Regt of Infantry Branch of service: Infantry Rank & line of duty: Sargent Affadavit of witnesses: Henry W. Hall & R. H. Stewart made oath below on 27 Oct 1914: The said applicant enlisted in Sixth? Mabry Company in Allens Regiment of 17th Texas Infantry in 1862 affidants say that said Curd Cox served in said company until the close of the war in 1865; affidants further say that said Curd Cox served honorably and never deserted his command or abandoned his post or duties. We never knew any other person named Curd Cox serving in said command.
