He was therefore born in 1858. [sic] His place of birth and the names of his parents are not given In his application. He enlisted about May 13, 1777, in Baltimore, Maryland, and served in Captain Lynch's company, Colonel Smallwood's regiment He was in the battles of Brandywine, Paoli, Germantown, and Monmouth. He was discharged about May 13, 1780. He moved to Tennessee and died June 3, 1837. In 1826 he referred to his wife as "some older" than himself.
