He was born in Pennsylvania August 7, 1757. He served in Virginia troops and was with Shelby in the battle of King's Mountain. He was also in the battle of Long Island. After the Revolution he moved to Knox County, Tennessee, where he lived for more than forty years. Note: George Huffaker's obituary is in the Knoxville Gazette (Tennessee) Register of November 8, 1838. He moved to Tennessee before 1798. He gave Dr. Ramsey an account of the battle of Long Island. He served in the Indian Wars after the Revolution and in 1792 he was in command of the guard at Henry's Station.
