Her passengers and crew were taken off by the tug Chase and landed at Pont Shirley. Mrs Mary Carter,wife of the steward, John Carter, jumped fron the burning vessel into the water and struck her head, presumably on the propeller. She was quickly taken from the water, but died in a short time. Her husband was badly burned about the head, but was saved. They are the only persons injured.
