KNOX COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - William "Bill" Dane Teague, 13 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- William D. Teague KNOXVILLE -- William "Bill" Dane Teague, 74, of Knoxville, died Saturday, December 13, 2003, at his home. Bill was born in Carter County on March 31, 1929 to Chasie and Hattie Teague. Bill was a faithful member of Karns Church of Christ for the past 41 years, having served as a deacon for the past 39 years. He retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority with 32 years of service as a civil engineer, having worked on all the major dam projects in the area, and in the Singleton Testing Lab for the past 15 years. He also retired from the S&ME Testing Lab. Bill was preceded in death by his son, William E. Teague, his son-in- law, Wayne Williams, and two sisters, Corinne Morton and Shelby Jean Hardin. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Thelma Holsclaw Teague; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Chase and Rebecca Allen Teague, Knoxville; one daughter, Sharon Teague Williams, Aiken, S.C.; three granddaughters, Heatherly Dawn Williams, Knoxville, Deborah Ann Ard and her husband, Tim, Aiken, S.C., and Amanda Teague Howard and her husband, Daniel, New York, N.Y.; one grandson, Michael Chase Teague and his wife, Bashty Redwine Teague, Nashville; a special great-granddaughter, Brittany Ard; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Houston Timbs, Elizabethton, Lillie Mae Stevens, Hampton, Martha Lou Forbes, Elizabethton, and Thelma and Luther Rouse, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Jerry Deakins, Greensboro, N.C.; and a brother-in-law and sister- in-law, Jerry E. and Jenny Holsclaw, Greensboro, N.C. Thank you to the 4th Floor Oncology Staff of Fort Sanders ParkWest and Dr. Martin Mitchell and Adventa Hospice, and a very special thank you to the Karns Church of Christ and to all of his friends. Funeral services were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, December 14, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Mr. Edwin Jones officiating. Graveside services and interment were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 15, at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Karns Church of Christ, 6612 Beaver Ridge Road, Knoxville, TN 37931 or to the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions in care of Karns Church of Christ.
