TN. Sarah was the daughter of Joseph Wood and Sarah McClain Wood who migrated to Knox Co from Randolph Co. NC. Please contact me if you have any additional information on the family of John Brown. ------------------------------------ On motion of John Tunnell he is by the Court appointed Administrator of John Brown late of Knox County, who died intestate. J. C. Brown to whom appertained the right to administer on said estate, having in open Court waived said right, thereupon the said John Tunnell entered into bond with Calvin Wood and Jefferson Jett as his securities in the sum of $1000. conditioned as the law directs, which bond is approved by the Court, and Letters of Administration awarded and issued and said Administration duly qualified, which Letters are in the words and figures following viz.: State of Tennessee, Knox County To John Tunnell, Greeting Whereas, It has been represented unto us in our County Court held for the County of Knox, at the Court House in Knoxville, on the first Monday of March 1860, that John Brown late of said County, had died intestate, having whilst living and at the time of his death, goods and chattels and credits--the ordering and granting administration whereof doth appertain unto us; and we being desirous that the said goods and chattels, rights and credits, may be well and faithfully administered, do grant unto you, the said John Tunnell full power, by these presents, well and truly to collect and take into your possession all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said John Brown, deceased, at the time of his death, wheresoever the same may be found--hereby requiring you to make or cause to be made and returned unto our said Court, at the next term thereof, a true inventory of said goods and chattels, rights and credits, and also to render a true and clear account of said administration when thereto required.
