Married 15 February 1925 in Lauderdale County,living in Pleasant Hill Community. Complainant born 4th August 1895; son of R.L.CROOK and MARY FRANCES CROOK. Defendent is betwenen 38 and 40 years ols is the daughter of J.M.& JENNETT RASBERRY.Born in Lauderdale County. Neither married before.Two children; COLLEEN CROOK,age 15 and DARRELL CROOK,age 13,living with father. Defendent left complainant one year after marriage,filed for divorce,couldn't prove grounds,came back to him.Stayed away from July thru Oct. Defendent very jealous hearted,constantly accusing of his infidelty. In 1925 Complainant engaged in farming at Central,jealously and nagging continued.Endeavoring to avoid this kind of married life,he sold his farm and moved to Curve where he bought farm.The same conditions continued. Again Complainant sold his farm and moved to Flippen where he purchased and operated a grocery store. In December Complainant moved to Pleasant Hill where he purchased a farm and was engaged in farming and for the past year he has been operating a store or clerking at store at that place.The Defendant instead of changing has gotton worse,coming into store accusing him,in presence of their children and community. Order Appointing Guardian,Fixing Bond,Directing Payment of Medical Expences And Allowance For Support: This cause coming on this day to be heard upon the Petition of T.J.CROOK and upon the testimony of the said T.J.CROOK,from all of which: It appears unto this Court that LOLA MARIE CROOK is the minor daughter of said T.J.CROOK,eleven years of age,lives with and is supported by the said T.J.CROOK; that on or about the 20th day of July 1935,the said LOLA MARIE CROOK was injured in an automobile accident sustaining serious permanent injuries; that as a result of the litigation filed in the Circuit Court of Shelby County,Tenn.,there has been realized to the said LOLA MARIE CROOK the net sum of $4,866.67,plus the sum of $921.44 realized by the said T.J.CROOK,which he is turning over to the Estate of his said minor,making a total sum of $5,788.11; that the said LOLA MARIE CROOK was in critical condition in the Baptist Hospital at Memphis,Tenn.,requiring the constant care and attention of a trained nurse and the leading doctors in Memphis and also a private room in said hospital; that this said care and attention was necessary in order to save the life of the said child who was at the point of death for a period of three months following the accident; that the bills as follows the Court does expressly find necessary and proper and were for services rendered which saved the life of the said child; that the bills are as follows: MARTHA LOU PHELPS $400.00; WILLIS C.CAMPBELL CLINIC 100.00; J.J.HOBSON,M.D. $350.00; MORTON J.TENDLER M.D. $200.00; DRS.FARRINGTON & EVANS $10.00; R.E.SEMMES M.D. $500.00; BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOSPITAL $394.00. She is 27 years old.Daughter of ELMER CONRAD & LILLIE JONES CONRAD. Defendent is the son of ROBERT CROOK and OMA WAKEFIELD CROOK. He is 28 years old. Married the 24th December 1939 in Lauderdale County,Tenn.,lived as man & wife until 22nd February 1947 when defendent deserted her.Two children: GLORIA ANN CROOK,6 years and BETTY JANICE CROOK,1 year,are living with her. Defendent has been going with MARGARET DAVIS for the last two years,staying out as late as 3 A.M. many nights. Complainant charges that at various times and places defendent committed adultry with MARGARET DAVIS.Also MARGARET DAVIS on account of this behavior was fired from her job at Black & White Store in Ripley. MARGARET DAVIS CROOK vs O.D.CROOK FINAL DECREE 15TH APRIL 1947. PAGE 245; MARCH TERM 1848 Thid day the Clerk presented to this Court a settlement by him made with JAMES COATS,Guardian to LAFAYETTE CROOK and MARY E.CROOK on the 4th March 1848. PAGE 264; A Majority of all Justices being present; it is further ordered that the Clerk of this Court shall not issue this order until JOSIAH M.ALEXANDER, HENRY WILLARD and JAMES B.CROOK,the Commissioners appointed by this Court at it's January session 1848,to let out to the lowest bidder file their certificate with him that SAM'L DAVENPORT was the lowest bidder and that he has completed said repairs according to his contract with them. And whereas it is represented to this Court that said Commissioners the said JOSIAH M.ALEXANDER, HENRY WILLARD and JAMES B.CROOK in the progress of the repairing of the bridge aforesaid have found it necessary to have work and repairs done which was not included in their contract with said DAVENPORT and for which they have promised him so much as the sum may be reasonably worth when completed.Therefore it is ordered that the Commissioners aforesaid continue to supertend the additional repairs and when completed to report to the July Term of this Court. This day came on this cause to be heard,it appeared to the Court that the defendent is guilty of having begotten the bastard child of which POLLY ANN REYNOLDS was delivered in this county of Lauderdale on the 26th of March 1858.It is therefore considered by the Court that the defendent be charged with the maintenance of said Bastard and that he pay for that purpose into the hands of the Commissioners of the Poorhouse the sum of thirty dollars for the year commencing the 26th of March 1859.
