Chambers, Addie Midgett (widow), Minnie Gracy and her husband, J.W. Gracy, Ada Lusk and her husband, Fletcher Lusk, Donnie Savage and her husband, Jim Savage, J.M. Chambers, Jr. And L.A. Owens and her husband, W.A. Owens, for and in consideration of the sum of $1175.00 cash in hand paid to us the following proportions: to wit G.A. Chambers, Addie Midgett, Minnie Gracy, wife of J.W. Gracy, and Ada Lusk, wife of Fletcher Lusk, $100.00 each. Donnie Savage, wife of Jim Savage, $150.00; J.H. Chambers, Jr. $125.00 and L.A. Owens, wife of W.A. Owens, $500.00. Have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents hereby transfer and convey unto I.C. Grear the following described tract or parcel of land lying, situated and being in the 14th civil district of Lauderdale County, Tennessee which is thus bounded and described to wit: beginning at a poplar stump with hickory and cucumber pointers, said stump is in Crichfield's east boundary line; thence north 100 poles to a white oak in said Crichfield's line; thence east 26 4/5 poles to a branch, said branch is in Tom Garrett's south boundary line; thence northeast with the meanders of said branch 48 poles to a stake with beech pointer marked "w"; thence south 16 degrees east 24 poles to a stake; thence south 13 degrees east 19 poles to a black gum; thence south 3 degrees west 39 poles to a stake with hickory pointer; thence south 64 degrees west 5 poles; thence south 46 degrees west 56 poles to a beech, said beech is in beard's north boundary line; thence west 36 poles to the beginning, containing fifty acres, more or less. To have and to hold said tract of land unto the said I.C. Grear, his heirs and assigns forever. We covanant to and with the said I.C. Grear that we are well seized and possessed of said tract of land, that we have a good right to convey the same, that it is unencumbered and that we will warrant and forever defend the title thereto to him, his heirs and assigns. The said I.C. Grear is to have immediate possession of said tract of land and Mrs. L.A. Owens is to pay the taxes on same for the present year. We, G.A. Chambers, Addie Midgett, Minnie Gracy, Ada Lusk, Donnie Savage and J.H. Chambers, Jr. Each own an undivided one-sixth interest in the tract of land herein conveyed, subject to the homestead and dower rights of our step-mother, Mrs. L.A. Owens, who was the former wife of our deceased father, J.H. Chambers, and we inherited said land from the said J.H. Chambers. And I, the said L.A. Owens, wife of W.A. Owens, in consideration of said sum of $500.00 cash in hand paid to me, receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, join in this conveyence for the express purpose of selling and conveying all of my homestead, dower, and any and all other rights, titles, claims and interests that I may have in and to said tract of land herein above conveyed.
