Wilson & wife} State of Tennessee to deed to 33 1/4 acres Lauderdale County Julia Midgett } For and in consideration of seven hundred and fifty ($750.00) dollars, six hundred dollars of which is cash in hand, paid receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and for the other one hundred and fifty dollars, Marion Midyett has this day executed to me his interest bearing note, payable twelve months after date, have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto Julia Midgett, wife of said Marion Midgett, the following described tract of land, situated, lying and being in the 6th civil district of Lauderdale County, Tennessee and being the same tract of land which was conveyed to me by J.G. Haynes and wife by deed, which is recorded in the registers office at Ripley, Tenn. In book "U-U", pages 440-1, to which reference is expressly made for a full and complete description of said tract of land which is thus bounded: beginning at a stake in the south boundary line of a 128 acre tract sold by the chancery court of Lauderdale County in the cause of R.W. Sutton and wife against Francis Parker, et als, and 124 poles from the southeast corner of the said 128 acre tract; thence west 80 poles to a stake; thence north 80 poles to a stake; thence east 50 poles to a stake; thence south 36 poles to a stake; thence east 30 poles to a stake; thence south 44 poles to the beginning, containing 33 1/4 acres, be the same more or less. And I covenant with the said Julia Midgett that said land is unencumbered and that I will forever warrant and defend the title to the same to her, her heirs and assigns. An express lien is retained on said tract of land to secure the payment of said $150.00 purchase money note, said note also providing for reasonable attorneys fees in case said note is collected by suit. And I, Christina Wilson, wife of said E.F. Wilson, hereby join in this conveyance for the express purpose of conveying all of my homestead dower or other right or interest in and to said tract of land. Wilson, having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband, the said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint by her husband and for the purpose therein expressed.
