Services for Glen HAZELRIG,9-year-old grandson of Mr.& Mrs.George CREWS,of Edith,who was accidently shot to death Saturday were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Wells Station Baptist Church in Memphis,with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Edith Methodist Church. The boy's uncle,Aubrey CREWS,of 1369 Oak Ridge,Memphis,had loaned a 20-gauge shotgun to Glen's brother,Danny,15,for hunting during the holidays.Police said Danny had varnished the stock and was putting the gun into a living room closet in his home at 1538 Wells Station Road,when it fired.The blast struck Glen in the chest as he sat in a chair.He was taken to St.Joseph Hospital and was pronounced dead at 3 p.m. He leaves his mother,Peggy Hazelrig KIRK; his father,William Wade HAZELRIG; his stepfather,Leonard KIRK; and a sister Rachael,12 years old. SANFORD,19, of Brownsville,was killed Sunday when a pickup truck he was driving skidded on icy Highway 19 near the Haywood-Lauderdale County Line ans struck a tree. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Brownsville Home with burial in Trinity Cemetery. A graduate of Haywood County High,he was a freshman in the University of Tennessee at Martin. Mrs.Lucia Livingston RICE,94, who died in her home in Ripley December 18th,1967,bequeathed two Lauderdale County Institutions a total of $125,000,her will discloses. $100,000 to Lauderdale County Hospital and $25,000 to Sugar Hill County Library. She was the widow of W.G.L. RICE. Mrs.Hilda Beanna Smith JONES, 62, widow of Oscar JONES,milk contractor of Covington,died at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tipton County Hospital in Covington,which she had just entered after an apparent heart attack. CRASH FATAL FOR NUTBUSH MINISTER--Rev.Wm.Fred GRAY,43,evangelist and pastor of the Full Gospel Revival Center at Nutbush,was killed Monday morning after his car left Highway 19,a half mile west of Brownsville and struck a tree. State Trooper Bob YOCHUM said thw accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. and that Rev.Mr.GRAY died in Haywood County Memorial Hospital in brownsville four hours later,without having regained consciousness. The trooper said GRAY was alone in the car.He said tire tracks showed the car had left the road for times over a distance of about 600 feet.The officer said Gray,a diabetic,was in insulin shock when he reached the hospital.Gray formerly lived in Memphis,he moved to Brownsville about a year ago. Mrs.Luther PRATER,of near Ripley,spotted the fully clothed form at 12:30 p.m. as she drove across the bridge,where she had seen Dyer County Civil Defense workers searching Sunday. Sheriff Gwinn MATTHEWS and chief deputy Lewis GITCHELL recovered the body. They said YOCHUM had been shot in the midsection.The body was sent to Memphis for autopsy. YOCHUM had disappeared about midnight May 19th from the Bluff View Inn,Highway 19,atop the Ashport Bluff near Ripley,which he owned and operated.His buck-shot riddled truck mired in mud,and his ring were found amid splotches of blood on the grounds of the Inn. BOULTON,a river worker for 35 years,disappeared Wednesday morning from the Patton-Tully tugboat out of New Madrid,Mo.
