Then the last Will and Testament of GEORGE W.CHILDRESS was produced in open Court and proven by JOHN C.RA--S AND J.P.HOLLIWAY,whom duly sworn depose and say that they have frequently seen GEORGE W.CHILDRESS right and that they believe that the signature to the proceding will was wrote by the said CHILDRESS which will is in the words and figures following,To Wit; I,GEORGE WASHINGTON CHILDRESS in my sober senses and of sound mind hereby make known my last will with regard to be disposal of all my property and rights or claims to property as follows, That I appoint BENJAMIN L.LAURENCE and JOHN M.HAYS and also THOMAS GORDAN my lawful Executors,that they pay out of my estate all debts incured by me both during my last illnesses other times and that after so doing all my remaining property be given to my sister,MARTHA ANN CHILDRESS for her possession as long as she may live and to her heirs after her.Given under my hand and seal in the town of Goldust(?) this eight day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty six.
