This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb by transcribed by Sarah Hutcherson <> ===================================================================== ESTATE OF SARAH METER NELSON STATE OF TENNESSEE LAUDERDALE COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF: ESTATE OF MRS.SARAH METER NELSON,deceased, ORDER This cause came on to be heard before the Honorable JOHN W.SANFORD,Judge of the County Court of Lauderdale County,on this the 9th day of March,1962,upon the sworn Petition of W.M.NELSON,Jr.,it appears to the Court that Mrs.SARAH METER NELSON died intestate in Lauderdale County,Tennessee on the 19th day of January,1962,leaving surviving her one son,W.M.NELSON,Jr.,and five daughters,MRS.ELIZABETH MUELLER; MRS.DEE YOCHUM; MRS EMILY RAY; MRS LUCILLE WILSON,and MRS.VIOLET BORG,as her only heirs at law. It further appearing to the Court that it is necessary that some person be named and appointed Administrator of the Estate of MRS.SARAH METER NELSON,deceased to wind up her affairs and to allend all matters pertaining thereto,and the Court being satisfied with the fitness and ability of the petitioner,W.M.NELSON,Jr.,to act as such Administrator,it is THEREFORE,ORDERED,ADJUDGED AND DECREED by the Court that W.M.NELSON Jr.,be and he is hereby named and appointed Administrator of the Estate of MRS.SARAH METER NELSON,deceased and the Clerk is directed to issue to him his Letters of Administration as such Administrator upon the said W.M.NELSON,Jr.,properly qualifing and making an Administrator's Bond,conditioned as provided by law in the amount of $2,500.00. IN THE COUNTY COURT OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY,TENNESSEE IN THE MATTER OF: PETITION: FOR APPOINTMENT OF ADMINISTRATOR Your Petitioner,W.M.NELSON,Jr.,respectfully shows to the Court as follows: I.That MRS.SARAH METER NELSON,died intestate on January 19th,1962,a citizen and resident of Lauderdale County,Tennessee,her death having been caused from natural causes at the age of 78 years,that she was a widow on the date of her death,and left the following children and heirs at law: W.M.NELSON,Jr.,ELIZABETH NELSON MUELLER; KATTIE NELSON YOCHUM; EMMA LEE NELSON RAY; LUCILLE NELSON WILSON; VIOLET NELSON BORG. II.That MRS.SARAH METER NELSON,had approximately $2,400.00 in the Farmers Union Bank,and a farm containing 1/4 acre. III.That she had only small outstanding debts,the extent of which is not known at this time. IV.Petitioner further shows that he has been considered the proper person by his sisters to be named such Administrator of the deceased's estate,and that he files this petation to be named and appointed. PREMISES CONSIDERED,PETITIONER PRAYS: I.That he be named and appointed Administrator of the estate of his mother,MRS.SARAH METER NELSON,deceased,and that he be issued Letters of Administration upon qualifying as provided by law. This 9th day of March 1962. W.M.NELSON,Jr. STATE OF TENNESSEE LAUDERDALE COUNTY I,W.M.NELSON,Jr,after first being duly sworn,makes oath in due form of law,that the facts set forth in the foregoing petition are true to the best of my information and knowledge. IN THE COUNTY COURT OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY,TENNESSEE IN RE: ESTATE OF MRS.SARAH METER NELSON This day the Clerk presented to the Court the settlement of W.M.NELSON,Jr.,administrator of the estate of MRS.SARAH METER NELSON,which settlement,being unexcepted to,and appearing to be regular in all respects,is by the court approved. IT IS ORDERED,ADJUDGES AND DECREED by the Court that the Clerk will record the same in the settlement book of the Court and further ordered that the administrator to disburse any funds remaining in his hands in accordance with the distribution method and portions therein embraced. AND it further appearing to the Court that the said W.M.NELSON,Jr.,has fully accounted for all the funds that came into his hands,and has duly paid out the same as the law directs, IT appearing to the Court that there are no more funds to come into his hands,it is,therefore ordered,adjudged and decreed by the Court that he and his bondsmen be released from further liability.
