Your petitioner having failed in his application to the Mayor and Aldermen of the town of Lawrnceburg to have said wit ------, they beleiving themselves not ---------- power to act as a corporate body except in the case of the public streets and public alleys, the title to said land being in the county court, and not in the corporation. Your petitioner therefore ask this grant of a lean for ninety nine years to enable him to ------ the nuisance by carrying off the water in a tunnel under the ground, and filling said gulley from said street, south across the Jail Lot, and is willing to be bound to make a good straight fence of post and plank on the West edge of the breaks of the gulley, beginning fi--t East of the Jail, so as entirely to enclose the gulley and improve the common raod across said lot south, and enclosing it with his own lot No Page 2 [This page is mostly unreadable and seems to tell more about what the petitioner plans to do to fix the problem.] 4, [unreadable lines]announcement and -----ing south, said lease --- ----------- for the period of ninety nine years ---- this ----and --- Justice to the -----.
