Book Title: 

A search has been carried out for G. W. Payne in the record of  Loretto Lodge 

No. 655, Loretto, Lawrence County, Tennessee with success.  He was the first 

man initiated into that Lodge when it was organized in January 1909.  

He received his degrees as follows: 

Entered Apprentice March 27, 

Fellow Craft April 24, and 

Master Mason on May 22 all in the year 1909.

In 1913 he served as Lodge Chaplain and then from 1914 until his death he was 

the Tyler.  

Died in 1943. This is all the information on this gentleman in the Grand Lodge 

file.
