STATE OF TENNESSEE LAWRENCE COUNTY ss.
To any regular Minister of the Gospel having the care of souls or any justice 
of the Peace.
These are to authorize you or either of you to solomnize the rites of Matrimony 
between Richard Bassham and Moarning Moody otherwise Moarning Reed of your 
county agreeable to the direction of an act of Assembly in such case made and 
provided, provided always, that the said Moarning Moody or Reed be an actual 
resident in this county, otherwise these shall be null and void, and shall not 
be accounted any licence or authority to you or either of you for the purpose 
as aforesaid, more than though the same had never been prayed or granted &c.  
Given at the Clerks office in said County, this 14th day of June 1821
