The Governor
Know all men by these presents that we James M. Robertson & Thomas Robertson of 
the County of Lawrence & State of Tennessee are held & firmly bound unto the 
Governor of said State for the time being & his successors in office In the sum 
of $1250 for the payment of which we bind ourselves our heirs & sealed with our 
seals & dated the 23rd Day of March 1836 The condition of the above obligation 
is such that whereas the above bound James M. Robertson has this day prayed & 
obtained a license to marry Jane Brashers now if the said Jane be an actual 
resident of the afforesaid county and there shall not appear a lawful cause why 
the said James M & Jane Should be Joined together in the holy state of matrimony 
as husband & wife then the above void else In force
